We haven’t accomplished the duck with boots because we didn’t quite get that far, but I did become skilled at forming a little duck pretty quickly without thinking too much about it. Now the duck is my go-to when I just need to work something out, when I don’t necessarily want to create anything new or in great detail but need to move energy through.

I had my first pop up in December. Aside from the people, one of my favorite parts was setting up the little space to display my work as well as welcome visitors to pause. The essence of copal and creosote filled my booth, the hot tea was pouring, and the bench was open for anyone to rest. I wove in the season’s bounty, persimmons, cinnamon, and pine, with the display of work that had formed through me the previous year.
